podcasts?!

USELESS WARNING: There is a slight chance you will find this post boring unless you are a student but it's up to you whether you cast your eyes on this post or not.

On my home screen I have a neat little folder called "boring". In that I place the "apps which you can't delete" ie: newstand, passbook, stocks and for a long time: podcasts. Up until around a week ago, podcasts were useless. Well, I'd never given them a chance but I'd assumed they were boring and paid for. When I finally decided to give them ago, as I wanted extra help learning mandarin, I found out they were free and useful as heck (never used that word before, just reminds me of "The Middle".) I now have tonnes downloaded and it doesn't take up much storage as you can either stream them, storagelessly (made up word of the day) and if you do decided to download them for wifi free listening, they are deleted after finishing.

I tend to download ones if I need help revising for a certain subject, or so I can improve on pronouncing chinese and then listen to them when I go to bed. Although I'm not certain it't scientifically proven that falling asleep to something helps you remember it (well I haven't researched it) but it's an easier way of doing something than reading it and staying awake all night studying.

Not only are there factual podcasts but funny ones: Tyler Oakley had his own "podcast subscription thing" which I didn't actually listen to but assumed he wasn't teaching us the periodic table or anything. Basically, there are masses of sound bytes just waiting to be listened to.

As for the Android users out there, I did my research and found ways that you can get podcasts tooooooooo:

  • If you search them up on the internet, they will generally have a "download" button so you can download them!
  • There are free apps you can download suchas "Podcast Addict" and "Podcast Republic".
Although this isn't the kind of post I would generally do, I just wanted to share with you guys something that I found useful because I'm helpful like that.

Moral of the story: Don't judge a book by it's cover, or name and give podcasts ago.

Oh and don't make me say "This isn't a sponsored post" because like Apple would pay a teenager with like 10 followers to talk about their free app which is automatically on every iPhone and millions people are already using. Thankyou.

Hehe BYEYEEE have a good day!

the sale rack at urban

Ever since I immersed myself in the hipster warehouse we call Urban Outfitters, I fell in love. Although now more of a mainstream shop, I still adore the eccentric, vintage-inspired pieces. What I don't love is the price.

That's why they have sales. Thank goodness.

Although huge sales are seasonal, I always find a little sale rack hidden away somewhere. They are never kept in the best condition. With clothes on the floor, all packed into a tiny room. It is almost as if they don't want things going cheap but if something's cheap, it't cheap. Anyway, I've recently been on the hunt for a new dress for a slightly special occasion you'll hear about later! Whilst rail flicking, I found two for £15 each. I genuinely couldn't decide on which one I preferred so I got both and here they are!

saturday specials

Today I present to you another round "Saturday Specials". I would've done a "friday faves" but I foolishly over exaggeration there posted on the Thursday and, as I don't post too often anymore, when I finally do I would prefer them not to be cramped next to each other... Anyway This week has been stressful, to say the least and it has been cold... just cold. I spent my whole morning planning a christmas series which better work out because the christmas excitement overcame me. But let's see what I've been loving!

Favourite Shop

totally out of the ordinary... and i love it.

Favourite Clutch
Actually from the owner of the shop before's Depop, who also had the collar I mentioned last time. Unfortunately it's sold now. Pooey.

Favourite Show
Creds to Netflix.

Favourite Hobby

Although I've been playing piano for around 5 years, I have really started to enjoy playing it. I believe I've mentioned it in one post or another but yep I love it.

Favourite Background
This seems to be a common "favourite" of mine. I would say I change my phone background more than I change my hair.

Have an amazing day and I hope you aren't cursed with rain!
Unless you like rain then enjoy it! hehe

Asos Wishlist!

Recently I downloaded the asos app! Although I can't recall any purchases from Asos in my lifetime, I really like a lot of the things on there and hope to buy stuff as it is free delivery, something most shops or websites don't have. But, back to the app, it is just so easy to do my daily dose of internet shopping and you can also put things you like in a "save for later" section. I love this as I generally just bookmark everything and forget about it. But I don't want to hold you back for too long so let's get on!

Finish the sentence…

So I found this in my drafts half finished. I thought I'd post it and finish it. Everything I added to it will be in red!

This morning, while scrolling through bloglovin, one blog led to another (through awards) and I found the "finish the sentence tag". This was done here and here and here (and probably in a load of other blogs but sorry).

When I open the fridge, I always hope I find...
A FULL FRIDGE! I'm actually quite versatile with food, like I will eat and like anything but mainly fruit. I guess, if I had to answer this properly, I would say lychees or chicken drumsticks. (I haven't had them in a while)

My favorite article of clothing is...
This is tough… but I would probably have to say my yellow lace skirt from zara. I know it sounds utterly outrageous but it's totally my style (bright and summery). I mentioned it in my Zara wishlist which you can check out here!

Last week I was really pissed when...
I actually was annoyed with something but I just can't grasp it… May I come back to this question at the end?

One thing nobody understands about me is...
Why I am clever. Okay, okay, I'm sorry for sounding big headed but, a lot of people in my school seem to think I study lots and spend my whole life working and revising. I don't. The only time where I will revise is before a big test. The only reason why I am good academically is mainly from the fact that I listen and do the work. Simples. Apologies for the obnoxiousness of this answer. It was a while ago. Okay I have no valid excuses but my friends told me it only makes sense if you know me. sorry

One thing I don't understand is...
Male genitalia. Just Kidding. Like I am really joking. I'm sorry. Umm. How surgeons can cut people open without fainting or atleast feeling bad.

The world would be a better place if...
Stereotypes were vanished. And also if diseases got cured and world peace and stuff. Oh our world certainly isn't perfect.

If I had a million dollars I'd...
Well I'm only 13 so I would probably give it to my parents and family and then buy holidays and give to charity.

If I could change one thing about myself, it would be...
My voice. Not entirely though. Just sometimes when I am recording something and I talk in the background, I sound so annoying.

Something that can always make me happy is...
Summer.

Something I'll never blog about is...
A makeup tutorial.

If I could go anywhere I would go...
to an idyllic beach with paddle boards and lovely food with friends.

because...
I've never been on holiday with friends and it would just be amazing! But I don't think it could be for too long because we would tear each other's heads off after too long.

If I were an animal I would be a....
Cat because I can explore and be independant. Although I am allergic to cats. Hopefully that would disappear if I was to turn into one.

A job I've always wanted is..
Something to do with the media or designing or making things. I don't know yet.

My idea of a perfect day is...
Any day just filled with laughter, smiles and a whole lotta food.

If I knew I'd die next week, this week I'd...
Persuade someone to take my skydiving. Is there an age limit? Hmm Okay I would write letters to everyone I know explaining how I feel about them.

Okay so that was that! I do realize that I have been doing tags recently. That is mainly because I have been quite busy. I do say that everytime but I genuinely haven't had much time to get proper posts up! My aim is to not be dependent on a already made tag for my next post!

So I hope you enjoyed this little blast from the past. Nope. It's just my old words. I think this was from the summer. BYEEE!

Oh and if you want to do this then go ahead.

i change my mind... alot

For some reason I find it impossible sticking to a specific thought or feeling for longer than a day. Okay, I guess a day is quite a long time, 24 whole hours. But in this case, I don't mean emotions because they are changing constantly but rather more ideas towards a subject.

My example, Autumn. My " thoughts on autumn"  post basically told the story of how my love for the season was growing. I can tell you now that it didn't last long. That was mainly because of the dramatic change in weather. From cool breezes to almost torrential storms, dripping wet, constantly. Now? Eh. Today the wind was cool and crisp. I'm sorry but I sometimes can't help myself when I talk about the weather.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that sometimes I get so involved in a certain feeling or emotion. I write about it, I talk about it, I think that it is everything I've ever wanted but it's not. Surprise, surprise, I feel completely different about it the next morning. If I think about it and lead this whole post to just one thing, it would be commitment.

I personally would class myself as I committed person most of the time. Okay, okay, I will admit my blogging schedule isn't exactly up to speed with how it was when I started but I'm still doing it. I'm still learning Chinese, I'm still playing the piano, I still trying to think of more examples but I  can commit. I kind of need to be committed for the next year as I am doing the Duke of Edinburgh award.  If you don't know what it is, it's basically where you volunteer, learn skills, do sport for 3 months and at the end you go on a hike across fields, fields and more fields.

I kind of went off topic there but whilst I was writing this post I realized something.
I realized that I will only commit to something fully if I have a reason for it. Examples? Chinese? Amazing life skill and I'm hoping to travel across China. Piano? Yet another life skill. It also makes me feel special that I can play it. Blogging? My life motto is "start early". I'm 13. One of the main reasons  that I started my blog was in the hope for it to expand as I reach maybe 20, other than the fact that I love sharing my thoughts and DIYs with you all!
But, point made, if I adore something, like a dress let's say, the maximum I would say it would be loved for is around a week. There's no reason to want a dress, I don't need it.

I come to the end of my post now. Apologies for boredom as whilst writing this post I learnt more about myself rather than talking to you. I didn't learn much but it's a start. Although I may not have many readers, I guess that's what blogging is really about isn't it?

P.S I was going to schedule this as I posted yesterday but I guarantee my feelings will not be the same and it won't be true.
